History
Since the opening in 1969, lots of locals and tourists have visited Jyllands Park Zoo (formerly Haunstrup Zoo and Jyllands Mini Zoo), a zoo with a cozy atmosphere and traditions, just outside Herning.
Poul Wittrup founded the park in 1969, and in 1998 Ove and Ingrid Nordestgaard took over. It is also Ove and Ingrid who runs Jyllands Park Zoo today - and they are the ones who changed the name of the park, to what it’s called today.
