The nutria is originally from South America, but today it is living in many other countries. In most places they do a lot of damage to both crops and nature. It is another example of an invasive species that has been spread due to ignorance or lack of thought. They are now on the invasive list, so we must not breed with them. Therefore we only have females in the zoo.
